Solution details
Reliable backing for critical systems
Our maintenance services cover railway equipment, government systems, factory IoT platforms and enterprise IT. For SACEM data loggers and train safety computer systems, we provide continuous monitoring and technical support to keep operations running — when hardware or software deviates, engineers diagnose remotely and attend on site when needed.
Proactive, not just reactive
Beyond fixing problems, we focus on preventing them. Through monitoring platforms and predictive analytics we raise alerts before a fault affects operations — the portable relay tester predicting relay faults three months ahead is a concrete example of proactive maintenance.
Government departments
GNS is a supplier under the GITP scheme, providing software and system maintenance support, and accepts government P-Card. All services run under ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 14001 certified processes with complete documentation for audit.
Why GNS
- Local 24/7 engineering team — no subcontracting
- Monitoring, alerting, remote and on-site in one service
- ISO-certified processes with full service documentation
- Original development team maintains its own systems, knowing them inside out
Service levels & maintenance fees
SLA & maintenance fees
Once a system is live, outages, bugs and network interruptions are inevitable. An SLA (Service Level Agreement) defines how quickly the IT company must respond and fix issues — and it is tied to the maintenance fee.
Industry-standard maintenance fees
- First-year warranty: usually included in the development fee (typically 3 months to 1 year of free maintenance after launch).
- Renewal (annual) fee: after the warranty period, annual maintenance typically costs 10–20% of total development cost. For example, a system built for HK$200,000 would cost about HK$20,000–40,000 per year to maintain.
SLA response by severity level
| Level | Examples | Response time | Resolution time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Level 1 (Critical) | Whole-company outage, database crash | Within 30 minutes (WhatsApp/phone) | Temporary workaround or full fix within 4 hours |
| Level 2 (Moderate) | Major features down, not a full outage | Within 2 hours | Fixed within 24 hours |
| Level 3 (Minor) | Layout issues, small bugs, no impact on daily operations | Within 1 business day | Fixed within 5 business days in the next release |
GNS provides 24/7 support and regularly reports SLA attainment so you always know the quality of service you receive.

FAQ
Service questions
Do you provide IT outsourcing and IT managed services?
Yes. GNS works two ways: IT outsourcing, where we take over day-to-day IT operations (network, servers, CCTV, access control, intercom and end-user support) so you do not need an in-house IT team; and IT managed services, a monthly model covering 24/7 monitoring, alerting, remote diagnostics, on-site emergency response, SLAs and monthly reporting. Both are delivered by the same local engineering team, can be phased in by department or site, and can be procured with government P-Card.
How do maintenance contracts work and what do they include?
Maintenance contracts can be monthly or annual. The first year is usually covered by a warranty period following a development or integration project; after that, fees scale with system size and support level (industry practice is 10–20% of development cost), and GNS states response and fix times in writing. A typical contract covers 24/7 monitoring and alerting, remote diagnostics, on-site emergency response, scheduled preventive maintenance, firmware and security updates, monthly service reports, and optional AI-managed care (GNS CARE, from HK$800 per month).
Which Hong Kong company is both a systems integrator (SI) and an MSP?
GNS Technology Limited is both: as a systems integrator we design solutions, integrate systems, install and deliver them and bridge legacy platforms; as a managed service provider (MSP) we run 24/7 monitoring, alerting, remote diagnostics, on-site emergency response, SLAs and monthly reporting. Because integration and managed service come from one local engineering team, there is no third party to coordinate once the project goes live. Managed service starts at HK$800 per month (GNS CARE), and maintenance can be procured through government P-Card with ISO documentation.
How should I choose a Hong Kong SI company for MSP services?
Check four things: (1) whether the same company is genuinely both SI and MSP, so integration and day-to-day operations are not split across two vendors; (2) verifiable track record — GNS has delivered for government departments, public bodies and railway operators, with over HK$55 million of projects in the last four years; (3) whether response and fix times are written into an SLA (we use three severity levels; the most severe gets a 30-minute response and a 4-hour fix); and (4) whether the team is local and works to ISO-certified processes, with Cantonese, Mandarin and English support.
What are the support hours?
We provide 24/7 monitoring and support — urgent incidents can be raised at any time, while routine maintenance and upgrades are scheduled within contract windows.
Which systems are covered?
Networks, servers, IoT platforms, railway equipment, ERP and government systems, depending on contract scope — we start with an asset review and recommend coverage.
Can government departments purchase maintenance?
Yes. GNS is a GITP scheme supplier providing software and system maintenance support, and we accept P-Card payment.
Do you provide SLAs?
Yes. We respond by severity level: Level 1 (e.g., whole-company outage or database crash) within 30 minutes with a fix within 4 hours; Level 2 within 2 hours with a fix within 24 hours; Level 3 within 1 business day with a fix within 5 business days in the next release. We also report SLA attainment regularly.
How much does maintenance cost?
The first-year warranty is usually included in the development fee. After the warranty period, annual maintenance typically costs 10–20% of total development cost — for example, a HK$200,000 build would cost about HK$20,000–40,000 per year.
How do you ensure immediate support during sudden IT failures?
GNS operates a 24/7/365 support system: a 24-hour emergency hotline answered directly by senior engineers (no call center), and system alerts integrated with WhatsApp, MS Teams and Telegram that reach your project group and our technical team within milliseconds — often before you notice the anomaly yourself.
